Devlog 6 - Movement Overhaul and Bug Fixes!
Rust & Rage » Devlog
Hey survivors,
We’ve been busy refining the core mechanics of Rust & Rage, and today’s update brings some major changes and much-needed fixes:
Movement System Overhaul
- The movement system has been completely reworked to be:
- More Flexible: Enemies can now switch between different movement states instead of being locked into one.
- More Robust: Improved handling for edge cases and future expansions.
- Easier to Work With: This update lays the groundwork for even more dynamic and responsive enemy behaviors in the future.
Bug Fixes
- Player Double Damage: Resolved an issue where the Player character was taking double damage from certain attacks. You’re tougher now—as intended!
- Squashed numerous smaller bugs affecting performance and gameplay stability.
Expanded Damage Over Time (DOT) Effects
- Rust & Rage now has 9 DOT effects, including exciting mechanics like:
- Confusion: Causes enemies to attack randomly or move erratically.
- Curses: Inflicts lingering penalties that change over time.
- These additions bring more depth and strategy to combat.
What’s Next?
We’re continuing to refine the gameplay experience while working on new features and content. Keep your feedback coming as we squash more bugs and polish the game to perfection.
Thanks for joining us on this journey—more updates coming tomorrow!
